Transferring a domain

1. We add a domain via "Addon Domains" in cPanel:

2. We enter the name of your domain. A directory for this domain will be created automatically. We can create an FTP account to upload page files directly to your domain directory. Click "Add domain".

3. We copy the entire content of our website to the created public_html / customer-domain.eu directory. We can use the built-in cPanel File Manager, or connect via FTP.

If it is needed for the website to function, we create a database:

We transfer the contents of the database from the previous hosting to the database.

We check the configuration files of our website, in particular the database name, database user, password and address (localhost).

4. We can assume mailbox :

5. In the panel of the current domain registrar, for the selected domain, click "Change DNS"

Serwer DNS 1 -> dns.smarthost.pl

Serwer DNS 2 -> dns2.smarthost.pl

Serwer DNS 3 -> dns3.smarthost.pl

Then confirm, for example, with the option "Change DNS"

After this operation, the domain should change its existing servers to new ones within 24H.

Domain transfer

You can also transfer the domain to Smarthost.pl and pay for it together with the hosting package. To do this, get it the AUTHINFO code in the panel of the current registrar, which entitles you to transfer the domain. Then log in to your account smarthost.eu/panel/ and go to the home page smarthost.eu 

Subdomain

If you want to add a subdomain to your domain, e.g. subdomain.customer-domain.eu, add it in the cPanel in Subdomains (not in Addon Domains).

1. Enter the cPanel in Subdomains

2. Enter the name of the subdomain, select the domain, e.g. customer-domain.eu (we do not choose the technical domain with the .smarthost.eu ending)

3. The subdomain will be in its own directory where the website should be placed.
